By only focusing on the symptoms, you may miss what the root of the problem could be – undisclosed sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse, difficulties with sexual intimacy or other sexual traumas. This seminar will provide you with specific knowledge and resources to enhance your capacity to effectively work with survivors of sexual abuse.
Adulthood sexual trauma is associated with short-term and long-term psychological consequences. Short-term effects include shock, fear, anxiety, confusion, and withdrawal. Many survivors experience a reduction in symptoms within a few months, whereas some women experience distress for years.
